As you might expect, the trips get expensive, so we do several fundraisers every year; along with matching funds from Thrivent & some help from members of our congregation we've been able to cover the cost of our trips.
We meet weekly, some weeks we just hang out, some weeks we have devotions, some weeks we plan for the 5th Sunday Services when the LYO conducts the Sunday morning services for the congregation, some weeks we do service projects, some weeks we have "pizza & movie nights", then there was the night that was left up to Lisa to plan and she decided we'd have wheelchair races in the fellowship hall.
The LYO hosts an Easter Egg hunt for the entire community, we have as much fun as the kids that come to find candy, and its a great opportunity for people to visit our church. In September of 2007, we decided to give away lunch. We grilled hotdogs, and handed a hotdog, chips, drink & invitation to church to everyone that drove past on 12th Street.
