Worship at Luther Memorial Church

Holy Communion is celebrated every other week at the various services, with the opportunity to take communion every week at one of the services. Our newly remodeled nursery is available at both Sunday services, allowing younger children a fun place to spend time during the service, yet close enough to the Sanctuary for parent's comfort.

Saturday Evening 5:30 pm

is an intimate worship service for those who enjoy worshiping with a small group.  It is a traditional Lutheran service, using and following worship from the Lutheran Book of Worship (LBW).  Saturday evening services meet in the chapel on the Southwest corner of the building.  Cindy Sargasee plays the piano for the Saturday night services.

Saturday Evening Services in the Chapel

Sunday Morning 8:30 am

is a traditional Lutheran worship service similar to the Saturday evening service following the Lutheran Book of Worship (LBW). Sunday Services meet in the large Sanctuary which is beautifully decorated with some of the most ornate stained glass windows in Quincy; each has a story all its own. Hymns are taken from the LBW with a few from "With One Voice" (blue hymnal). Luther Memorial Church has one of the nicest pipe organs in Quincy. Music at our 8:30 service is traditional and includes hymns dating from hundreds of years ago to the last century. Our worship experience is enhanced by the use of projection screens that project the words from the hymnal on the screens.

Sunday Morning 10:45 am

is a Contemporary worship service. Dress is more casual, the hymnals are put away and the projection system is used every week to enhance worship. The Praise Band leads us with recent music and the worship service is relaxed, while still containing the features of a Lutheran Service: the confession and absolution, the Lord's Prayer, the creed, a pastoral meditation and children's time.
